The Loyola University Biever Guest Lecture Committee and the Religious Studies Department will be holding a lecture Wednesday March 2 at 7 p.m. in Multimedia Room 2 in Monroe library on getting past “Good Guys and Bad Guys” and Building Peace with Justice in Burma/Myanmar.
The lectures speaker will be Dr. Jayne Seminare Docherty.
The lecture will focus on addressing Western misconceptions of the Burma and Myanmar situation, and how one can go about promoting non-violent change in socially repressed countries.
Docherty has a PhD in conflict resolution from George Mason University and has been meeting with Burma/Myanmar resistance leaders since 2008.
