It is nearly impossible to put into words all the amazing things I have learned and the challenges I have faced as Student Government Association president this year.
The one thing I can say I learned without a doubt is the importance of hard work.
Almost all candidates will have great ideas and amazing initiatives, but it takes an undying commitment and desire to see a better campus to really make a difference.
Being a good SGA president means constantly working on improvements, asking questions, listening to the answers to those questions, and probably sleeping a great deal less than you would like to.
The great part is that with in all of the hard work comes a world of opportunities, like connecting with students you would not have otherwise, to go canoeing, to be part of a step team, to model in a fashion show, to participate in board meetings, to cook in an Iron Chef competition, to go to New York with amazing Jesuit student leaders, to organize forums and to be a part of something much bigger than yourself.
I can only hope that this experience has been as beneficial for students as it has been for me.
Thank you to all the students who helped make SGA and this campus what it is today.
It has been a wonderful year, and it has been a pleasure serving as SGA president.
