Brief: Loyola students play for elderly

College of Music and Fine Arts students are using their talents to give back to the community this holiday season with a series of live performances at the Poydras Retirement Home on Magazine Street in New Orleans. The recitals are a way to bring music to an elderly community that does not have the ability to attend live concerts. Nick Volz, the coordinator of the performances, said, “It particularly helps us connect with elderly people and those with memory problems.” The group plans to present recitals each semester following the regular Sunday church service at the home.
