The Southern States Athletic Conference has named Loyola’s Annie Hills and Paul Freese Cross Country runners of the week. At the Sand Shark Invitational, Hills finished 18th of 142 runners while Freese finished 31st of 153 runners. Hills, a junior, broke the 5K record, the second record she has broken this year. Freese, a sophomore, ran the fifth fastest 8K in the history of Loyola. The women’s team finished eighth of 16 teams while the men placed 10th of 17 teams. Next, the cross-country team will be competing in the Southern States Athletic Conference Championships on Nov. 3.
