Keiva Council was recognized as State Farm Coaches’ All-America Team Honorable Mention for the 2010-2011 season for the NAIA. Council was one of only 20 players to receive the honorable mention from Division I NAIA schools around the nation. Council was 20th in the league in assists 22nd in total scoring with 541 points and 23rd in points per game with an average 16.9. Head women’s coach Kellie Kennedy praised the point guard, saying, “I am so proud of her and very proud that she is part of our program. She has been a great leader for us, not only in statistical categories, but also as our emotional leader. She has the heart and determination of a lion and wants to win more than anything.”
Council was instrumental in the team’s success during the team’s run to the conference tournament, hitting the two crucial free throws in overtime that helped lift the Wolfpack past Lee University on Loyola’s way to the SSAC conference championship game with the 72-70. Council had 22 points that game to go along with 33 point in the previous victory against Shorter University.
