The Student Government Association chartered The Real Estate Law Society this week. Law school spokesperson Mike Guilliot said the society is concerned about utilizing the university’s resources in order to find out more about real estate law. Guilliot announced that the organization enlisted fifteen participants in 2 hours. He told SGA that real estate law at Loyola is expanding. There will also be two courses offered in real estate next semester.
Activities of the organization include exposing students to the legalities in buying property. The Real Estate Law Society is not only open to those in law school pursuing real estate law, but to all who may be interested.
Guilliot announced an already scheduled panel discussion about current issues in real estate law.
The SGA committee voted to pass the Richard Frank Grant Allocations.
Officer reports from Anna Hall, music business senior and SGA president, included her emphasis on participating in Loyola week events. Hall stated that Friday would be Multicultural Friday at 3:30 p.m.
Sponsored by the International Student Association and that Happy Hour with the Jesuits, also on that day, will be at Bruno’s at 6 p.m.
Percy Marchand announced that the SGA Web site is up and running and students can log on to access the site at www.loyno.edu/~sga.
Announcements included that there will be a discussion about this year’s senior gift on Oct. 22 during the window in Octavia I.
Loup Garou will be Oct. 25 at Tipitina’s and will feature Cowboy Mouth and Better than Ezra.
Tickets are on sale now and students can purchase them on their Loyola express card.
Book sale cash is available for students who sold their books at the beginning of this semester.
On Oct. 22, there will be a jazz clinic during the window that will feature a Brazilian pianist.
