Storms tear through campus Monday morning
April 27, 2015
A strong line of thunderstorms tore through campus, uprooting one tree in the Peace Quad and slamming a segment of stage through a window in the Danna Center.
Winds flung a container of water bottles across the Residential Quad and knocked over temporary construction fencing. Some areas of campus had slight flooding, and workers inflated a temporary barrier to prevent flood waters from entering Bobet Hall.
By 11:30 a.m., campus officials announced that the threat of tornadoes had passed, but they urged students to exercise extreme caution, especially when driving.
