Sonya Duhé, director of Loyola’s School of Mass Communication, is one of four finalists in the running to become dean of the University of Missouri School of Journalism.

The position has opened up in the wake of Mizzou’s dean, Dean Mills, announcing his retirement after 25 years as dean.

Duhé will be competing with David Kurpius, a professor at the Louisiana State University Manship School of Mass Communication, Esther Thorson, the associate dean for graduate study at Mizzou, and Thor Wasbotten, the director of Kent State University’s School of Journalism and Mass Communication.

Duhé will visit Mizzou from Feb. 11 to 14 to meet with students, faculty and staff.
