All first year students to view mandatory documentary

This fall, new students will be required to watch a documentary film entitled “Bury the Hatchet” as a part of the common reading experience that the First-Year Experience Steering Committee is reinstating. The film features three Mardi Gras Indian Chiefs and their representation of the culture of New Orleans, and it was chosen to expose students to this aspect of New Orleans culture. The film will be screened during the first 2-3 weeks of the semester, followed by small breakout sessions immediately after each screening.
