On Friday, Nov. 25, the Wolf Pack women’s basketball team hosted the Oklahoma City University Stars.
With one more win, Loyola head coach, Kellie Kennedy would become the all-time leader in wins in Wolf Pack basketball history, according to Loyola Athletics.
Loyola got off to an early lead as they entered halftime with a 35-30 lead. The game proved to be tight as the Wolf Pack and Stars traded shots throughout the second half, with the game on the line in the final moments.
With one minute left in regulation, junior Zoie Miller put in a layup to tie the game at 59. The Stars retained possession and made two quick free throws to put them back up 61-59.
Senior, Meghan Temple nailed a crucial layup to tie it once more with 23 seconds left. With 12 seconds remaining and tied at 61, the Stars pushed the ball up court and forward Daniela Wallen drained a jumper over Loyola defenders to secure the 63-61 victory over the Wolf Pack.
Senior forward, Shayne Charles led the Wolf Pack with 14 points in 28 minutes off the bench and Temple grabbed a game-high 11 rebounds in 26 minutes, according to Loyola Athletics.
The (4-2) Wolf Pack will host\t (2-2) Millsaps College at First NBC Court on Monday, Nov. 28. at 6:00 p.m.
