The world is waiting for your responsible journalism.
To the rest of commentors, nice job rushing to a verdict based on a fabricated story and a mugshot of a scared man trying not to appear weak.
Yes he has been cleared.

Well, I hope that this is the guy and that we’ve got the bastard, but it seems a bit confusing. He seems to generally fit the description. They’ve now got fingerprints etc. on him. So, why no further charges?

Not a detective myself, but this guy seems like the serial rapist that’s been drugging & raping women with his lowlife friends. They should have held him & interrogated him to see who is distributing date rape drugs and who else took part in the violent abuse of these women. Loyola’s President knows NOPD wont do anything, so the University’s investigation and punishment must be swift.

Barrie,
Note that he is not charged with rape but sexual battery. Not a legal expert myself, but I believe that means he touched someone inappropriately. That’s why the bond is so low.

$3500. Bond (& passport seizure)for Rape is an insult to the victim and the Loyola Community.Bond is normally set to insure the defendant’s appearance in court weighed against the gravity of the crime and safety of the community. Although nothing can guarantee an appearance in court short of being held without bail, an example should be set, that would at least give the semblance of fairness. The $3500 bond is a mockery of women and the system that it is supposed to protect them.
