Adil Khan, Loyola professor of Islamic studies, will discuss the church and state according to Islam. Khan’s presentation is a part of the Yamauchi Lecture Series. The series began in 1985 to commemorate James Yamauchi, a former chairman of the department of religious studies. This lecture series seeks to bring the results of religious scholarship to a wider audience. Khan will examine the evolution of contemporary Islamic Law. This lecture is free and open to the public and will take place on Tuesday, Sept. 24, at 7 p.m. in Nunemaker Auditorium.
