The world of religion will now have its own place in the Maroon. Garret Fontenot, history senior, was recently appointed the religion section editor. This section will cover issues and news pertinent to all faiths and denominations.
“The section will only be one page, or a page and a half. It’s there because Loyola is a hub of religious activity,” said Alex Fournet, Maroon Editor-in-Chief and international business and religious studies senior.
Fontenot is willing for anyone to contribute articles. He said he is most excited about the newfound opportunity for dialogue between all of the different faiths represented on campus.
“We’re a Jesuit university and we’d like to represent that by embracing the role faith has in all of our lives, whether or not we’re Christian,” Fournet said.
