Donald Boomgaarden, dean of the College of Music and Fine Arts, William Locander, dean of the College of Business and Provost Ed Kvet spoke to the Student Government Association Jan. 19 about the change in music industry curriculum. During the meeting, Boomgaarden, Locander, and Kvet highlighted and expounded upon three important reasons for the new revision to the curriculum. They made clear that the discontinuation of the major in the College of Business was converted to a minor as a way to end confusion amongst advisors, faculty, and students as accreditation issues developed in the College of Business surrounding the major. Additionally, the College of Business and the music industry program will maintain ties and continue to offer students the educational experience Loyola is known for.
