At the Student Government Association Senate meeting on Wednesday, Feb. 19, new constitutional amendments were proposed to senate from the SGA Judicial Branch.
Mara Steven, history pre-law senior and SGA chief justice, submitted the proposed amendments, but was unable to attend the meeting.
Raymond Price, mass communication freshman and SGA judicial branch representative, said Steven will hold an information session on March 10 to discuss the proposed amendments.
The proposed amendments address revisions to the sections of the current constitution regarding impeachment, quorum, members occupying multiple branches of SGA, the length of terms for a member of the Court of Review and the Clerk of Court, and the vacancy of an executive staff member.
Blake Corley, mass communication junior and SGA executive vice president, said that SGA elections would be held in late March and that candidates will not be announced until campaigning officially begins. More details will be announced soon, he said.
