The Boot – A popular Uptown bar that almost every person who has gone to college in New Orleans has been to or heard about. But, just like a lot of New Orleans favorites, it takes on different roles at different times. On Wednesday and Friday afternoons starting at 4 p.m., The Boot is a wonderful happy-hour hangout. With the booths and a large open area inside, as well as the tables and chairs outside (not to the mention the $3 triple shot drinks and large beers), it makes for a great place for students of all ages to relax and let off some steam after a long week with a group of their friends or colleagues. Come 2 a.m. on Saturday night, though, The Boot transforms into a magical singles wonderland. Drunk college students flock from all over the city to come for a chance to dance the night away and possibly catch some guy’s or girl’s eye. If you’re single and ready to mingle, The Boot is definitely the place you want to be.
