Loyola will showcase Haitian music, photography and poetry while represenatives from Fonkoze, a Haitian financial institution created to help the country’s poor, speak about the current situation in Haiti and how the donations to their organizations help as part of it’s continued celebration of the “Half the Sky” read-a-thon.
The “Half the Sky” read-a-thon is a fundraiser for Fonkoze.
The Haitian celebration is part of Loyola’s celebration of International Week. During International Week, college campuses around the world focus on international education and exchange.
The event is scheduled to place on Nov. 11 from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Audubon Room located in the Danna student center. Admission is free and open to the public.
