Loyola received it’s yearly College Sustainability Report Card and has gone up a whole letter grade from a C- in 2010 to a B-.
The report put out by the Sustainable Endowments Institute is meant to provide information so that schools can learn to make more effective sustainability policies. The report looks at 52 factors and uses an A to an F grading scale to evaluate a school’s sustainability.
Loyola raised its grade in the administration category from a C to an A for purchasing Energy Star appliances and exclusively using recycled paper for stationary, envelopes and business cards. The university also received an A in the “Green Building” category for the new construction and renovation on campus.
