Loyola’s College of Law and the Loyola Journal of Public Interest Law will host a panel to discuss the best immigration practices for states within federal guidelines.
“Federalism at Work: State Criminal Law, Noncitizens and Immigration Related Activity,” will examine the role state criminal law has in the context of immigration.
The keynote speaker will be professor Bill Ong Hing of the University of San Francisco School of Law. Hing has put out many publications on the topic including “Ethical Borders: NAFTA, Globalization, and Mexican Migration” and “Defining America Through Immigration Policy.”
The panel will be held Friday, Nov. 5 from 1 p.m. to 5:45 p.m. in the College of Law, room 308. Attendance is free and open to the public.
