To the Editors:
I am almost speechless and extremely horrified to hear that George Howard’s contract is not being renewed next year. The music industry program as well as the business school will be losing a priceless asset if Professor Howard does not return. I am extremely grateful to have had him as my professor and advisor for the past four years. I know that he is the connector for students majoring in the music industry program and the realization of the career opportunities possible to them. Any hope for entrepreneurial spirit in the program is sure to be severely stifled in his absence. What a disservice Loyola is doing to its students, faculty and community by not renewing Professor Howard’s contract–a great example of social injustice and from a Jesuit institution.
