Next Tuesday is fast approaching and you know what that means — new DVD releases. Well, if you want advice on what you should absolutely buy, what you should rent once and what you should stay away from, check out this guide on what’s hot and what’s not.
“Hellboy II: The Golden Army”
Guillermo Del Toro once again delivers an astounding film with “Hellboy II.” Del Toro proves his ability to weave an intricate tale that is always entertaining. From the fantastic character design to the excellent casting choices, “Hellboy II” is a fun ride from start to finish. Del Toro proves why he could be one of the best filmmakers of our time.
“Star Wars: The Clone Wars”
“The Clone Wars” is a film that proves what your parents have always told you: cartoons are for kids. George Lucas has the made the final step in bringing down the franchise that many love dearly and has produced a film that even the children to whom it caters won’t want to watch. “Star Wars” was once a great franchise that enthralled millions, but now it has become just another way to sell toys.
“Beer for My Horses”
Toby Keith made this movie from his song “Beer for My Horses.” There’s not much more to say that the film’s title does not say. This is another Larry the Cable Guy-esque comedy that involves Toby Keith rescuing his girlfriend from the clutches of a Mexican drug dealer. This review could be longer, but this film doesn’t even deserve the extra space that more criticism would provide. Stay away from this movie like a gazelle from a pride of lions.
