New Orleans native Lil Wayne has opened a skate park in the Lower 9th Ward of New Orleans. The rapper, who only started skateboarding a year and a half ago, partnered with Mountain Dew and Glu Agency to open the park. The park was built using recycled materials and operates using solar power. Lil Wayne opens the park in this location with hopes that it will serve as a positive gathering space in a place so heavily affected by Hurricane Katrina.
