Brief: The Maroon names next Editor-in-Chief
April 2, 2014
The Maroon editorial board, along with journalism faculty and staff, elected Topher Danial, English writing junior, to be editor-in-chief for fall 2014 of The Maroon.
Danial has served as proofreader, copy editor and news editor at The Maroon.
Danial also wrote the paper’s first serial fiction before founding the student art section, The Works, and serving as its first editor.
Danial said when he started at The Maroon as a freshman, he entertained the idea of becoming editor-in-chief for a short time before he saw it as far-fetched.
“That it actually happened is completely surreal. I’m still expecting to wake up from the daydream at any moment,” Danial said.
