The Sewage and Water Board is taking on a large and important task to end boil water advisories in New Orleans.
With over 600 projects, the Sewage and Water Board has begun to repair water pumps and is working with expert organizations such as Nelson Engineering who developed a short term solution to tie the Sewage and Water Board pumping with other valves and share their water.
New Orleans Mayor Mitch Landrieu viewed these advisories as unacceptable and ensured residents that there are current large infrastructure projects that are working towards stopping boil water advisories.
“Since taking office, I have been committed to fixing Sewerage and Water Board’s aging infrastructure so that we have safe and reliable water, sewer and drainage,” Mayor Landrieu said in a press release.
