Coming into the first game of the SSAC Championship Tournament the Wolf Pack (16-12;10-8 SSAC) looked to bounce back from a tough loss to William Carey University. The Pack came up with a big win against the University of Mobile on Wednesday, March 2.

The Pack was led by Jonny Griffin Jr. with 12 points and chipped in four rebounds. Jr. guard Jalen Gray added 10 points and Fr. Henry MacDonald put up 11 points in the victory. The Pack shot 48 percent from the field, including connecting on 8-of-17 three pointers in the game.

The Pack held the Rams to 38 percent shooting from the field and only 23 percent shooting from beyond the arc. James Davis led the Rams with 14 points but shot only 3-of-11 from the field.

Stacy Hollowell, head coach, was pleased with the overall effort of his team in the victory.

“We were balanced offensively, took good shots and took care of the ball,”Hollowell said.

Hollowell did, however, look ahead to the Pack’s next matchup against the number one team in the SSAC, William Carey, a revenge game for the team.

“We’ll go back to the drawing boards and see if we can put together a winning game plan for tomorrow’s game against a very tough William Carey team,” Hollowell said.

The Pack will have a rematch against William Carey University tomorrow at 3:15 p.m.
