On Saturday, Dec. 3 Loyola’s women’s basketball team traveled to Brunswick, Ga. defeating the College of Coastal Georgia 82-69.
The Mariners took the lead early with a score of 21-19 at the end of the first, but Loyola battled back taking control in the second quarter with the Wolf Pack leading 50-34 at the half.
In the second half, Loyola continued to push the pace giving them the 64-51 lead going into the fourth quarter. The Mariners trimmed the lead to just six points with four minutes left in the final quarter, but the Wolf Pack held on to seal the 82-69 victory.
Senior forward, Meghan Temple continued to dominate, gaining a double-double on 24 points and 17 rebounds to help the Wolf Pack in the win. Junior guard, Di’Mond Jackson helped the Wolf Pack with 16 points, five rebounds and five assists off the bench.
Loyola moves to 7-2 overall and 2-0 in Southern States Athletic Conference play.
The Wolf Pack take on Selma University on Dec. 7 at First NBC Court.
