The Shawn M. Donnelley Center for Nonprofit Communications walked out of the 2019 ADDY Awards Gala victorious last week with three awards for their design of the “New Orleans Bulldog Rescue Calendar,” as well as the work of Mathew Pashby, mass communication senior, and an award in recognition of Álvaro Bootello, Executive Director of The Donnelley Center, according to a Feb. 20 press release from the center.

“I am humbled to receive this prestigious award,” said Bootello. “The Silver ADDY for the Shawn M. Donnelley Center for Nonprofit Communications is truly an honor that rewards the creative spirit of excellence in our industry, and elevates our students’ work to the highest industry standards.”

Bootello was the recipient of the 2019 Ad Person of the Year, in the educator category. In the student category, Pashby was recognized as the 2019 Ad Person of the Year.

“I am extremely proud and excited to have won Ad Person of the Year. I could not have done it without the support of the Donnelley Center and the School of Mass Communication staff. This award and the other ADDY awards we won for the Donnelley Center show how strong our staff are and how important the Donnelley Center is,” Pashby said.
