Evelyn Hubbard suspected of sending threatening emails to Loyola Police

Monroe Hall houses 37.5 percent of Loyola classrooms. Evelyn Hubbard, biology junior, was arrested on suspicion of sending emails threatening to blow up Monroe Hall.

Evelyn Hubbard, biology junior, was arrested by the FBI Dec. 9 on a criminal complaint charge after police say she sent two threatening emails to the Loyola University Police Department, according to police reports.

On Nov. 17, LUPD received the first email at 9 a.m. calling for an immediate evacuation of Monroe Hall by 9:33 a.m. According to police reports, in the first message, Hubbard threatens to kill five professors with a “9×19 mm mamba pistol with five bullets,” she said in the email.

“I HAVE NO SYMPATHY FOR ANY ACCIDENTAL CASUALTIES,” Hubbard said in the email.

At 9:27 a.m., police reports say Hubbard sent the second email. “YOU ARE REALLY TRYING MY PATIENCE! I AM ON THE VERGE OF BLOWING UP THAT BITCH AND YOU’LL BE RENOVATING FROM THE FOUNDATION,” she said in the email.

The report also said that Hubbard “stated she did not intend to injure or kill anyone and thought the messages were more of a joke.”

Hubbard was released from jail Dec. 9 on a $10,000 bond.
