If you are looking for a typical, bland Indie rock band, go somewhere else. If you want great music however, come in a little closer.

MyNameIsJohnMichael’s new CD, “The People That Come and Go,” is the hottest ear candy for Indie rockers and music lovers alike. It has upbeat melodies and a mixture of heartbreaking and hopeful lyrics that reel listeners in from track one to the end. “Every night of the year” is the anthem listeners will find themselves playing the most. While “Misery Runs” is the catchy track with the trumpet solo and unforgettable chorus that will get stuck in your head.

Many listeners will appreciate the band’s clever way of expressing emotion without sounding overbearing and repetitive. The problem with many bands, whether rock, hip-hop or otherwise, is that they seem to focus on one sound and write about the same thing. MyNameIsJohnMichael’s most refreshing aspect is that they refrain from the cliché and are not afraid to change it up within their music.

MyNameIsJohnMichael dropped their album March 28. “The People That Come and Go” is a great album because it stays true to the Indie roots. Nothing sounds the same and the CD never takes a boring turn. Each song will turn listeners into die-hard fans and leave them wanting more. This album is classic MyNameIsJohnMichael. Fans can catch the guys at The Howlin’ Wolf April 4 for the Breast Cancer Awareness benefit concert. So pick up the album and go show your support for MyNameIsJohnMichael — and breasts.
