With a little over a month to go before the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference tournament, the Loyola baseball team is preparing for the home stretch of its season. Coach Doc Beeman has stressed all year that this season would be a learning process for his squad, and he said that his team is getting better everyday.
“We are real close to becoming a good team,” Beeman said. “We have 20 games left before the conference tournament, and if we can put it together in that time, we will be tough. The team has really impressed me this year in how hard they play and how they fight to the end.”

Management sophomore Brian Mason and communications senior Kevin Kalina drove in two runs each, and Veltri scored twice in the win. Blakeman (2-2) notched the victory.
