It is time that the student body lodged a formal complaint with the University. Loyola was one of a tiny minority of schools in the city that did not get a half-day to see the Saints’ victory parade. We also defy logic and tradition by returning to school on Ash Wednesday.
Please, take some days off of our summer or Christmas break if need be (even though it was a week shorter this year). But please, let us have the Mardi Gras week back. Let us join the rest of the New Orleans community in watching the jubilant and historical return of the New Orleans Saints.
Father Wildes, you were able to go to the Super Bowl without being penalized; can’t we go to a parade?
