Brief:Task force addresses Internet connection

Student Government Association members James Sheppard, management sophomore, Nate Ryther, economics sophomore, and Alex Kneib, history pre-law junior, are leading a facilities task force to address the issues with the Internet connections on campus.

The task force met with Joseph Locascio, director of computer services, last week to discuss the issues, Sheppard said. Sheppard explained the setup of the Internet connection at the senate meeting.

Sheppard said there are around 500 Internet access points on campus for students to connect to the Internet. Information Technology is not aware that these access points are not working until students call the office, Sheppard said.

The task force said that they would actively promote the number for the office for students to call. Sheppard also said that the task force is working to get two more access points specifically for the library to improve the Internet connections.
