Members of the Loyola community will receive the sacrament of confirmation during the 9 p.m. Mass on Sunday, April 27 in the Ignatius Chapel on the first floor of Bobet Hall.
Roman Catholics hold that confirmation, one of the seven sacraments in the Roman Catholic Church, is an affirmation of the graces received in the sacrament of Baptism.
A Catholic bishop presides over the sacrament, and Sunday’s confirmation will be celebrated by Bishop Dominic Carmon.
Due to the celebration of the sacrament, the mass is scheduled to run until 10:30 p.m., 30 minutes longer than the usual 9 p.m. Sunday mass.
