Loyola’s assistant professor of religious studies Mari Rethelyi, Ph.D will be giving a lecture to discuss how Christians and Jews relate in society. The lecture is called “All in the family? Jewish and Christian Encounters.” It will examine early 20th century thought and discuss why Christians and Jews need each other to better the world.
“My lecture will also raise the question of what possibilities exist for Jewish-Christian co-existence today,” Rethelyi said.
The lecture will be held in the St. Charles Room in the Danna Center Nov. 15 at 5 p.m. Rethelyi received her doctorate from the University of Chicago in 2009 in Jewish studies.
