    Freshman dies after brain aneurism

Memorial services planned for criminal justice student Christopher Gregory

Criminal justice freshman Christopher Gregory died Thursday morning due to an aneurism that put him in the hospital Monday evening. Loyola will hold a memorial service for him in Ignatius Chapel tomorrow, March 28, at 5 p.m., according to a campus-wide e-mail from University Ministry dean Kurt Bindewald.

Gregory was with his parents, Grace and Eric, his brothers John and Colin, a Loyola history junior, and several close friends when he died.

The Gregory family will be present at the memorial service, and Bindewald encouraged students, faculty and staff to sign the blanket, journal or guestbook in the Manresa Den that will all be presented to the family.

The Gregories have decided they will donate Chris’ organs, and they plan to have the funeral at home in Laurel, Md. Loyola administrators will issue an e-mail for the time and place of the funeral once the plans are finalized, according to Bindewald’s statement.

Bindewald also reminded students, faculty and staff that University Counseling, University Ministry chaplains and Student Affairs professionals are available to anyone who needs them.
