Loyola University’s College of Music and Fine Arts gave back to the community on Nov. 30 by performing at the Poydras Retirement Home on Magazine Street. Nick Volz, a trumpet professor at the university and coordinator of the event, saw giving those at the home a live performance as a way for students to give back to their community this holiday season with the universal language of music. Subsequent recitals are to follow the home’s regular Sunday church service each semester.
