The Loyola women’s soccer team played its first game since 2004 last Saturday, losing 4-0 to Christian Brothers University in Memphis, Tenn.
CBU’s Courtney Robertson scored a pair of goals and assisted on a third.
The Lady Wolfpack managed to shoot only once in the match while allowing 28 shots from its opponents.
The game marked coach David Poggi’s regular season debut, as last season’s games were cancelled because of the university’s decision to cancel fall classes after Hurricane Katrina.
“We were a bit overwhelmed by the travel, by our opponent, by ourselves and our low numbers.” Poggi said. “In the second half, we just got tired, and that led to some of the goals.”
