Classes after 3:30 p.m. on Friday afternoon will be canceled in preparation for Tropical Storm Ida, according to an email to students and faculty from President Tania Tetlow.

The storm is expected to make landfall in Louisiana as either a Category 2 or Category 3 hurricane in Louisiana as early as 8 p.m. on Saturday, according to Nola.com.

Tetlow encouraged students to begin making hurricane preparations before tropical weather reaches New Orleans.

All non-essential Loyola employees will be sent home Friday at 3:30 p.m. but campus services will remain open through Saturday pending weather conditions, according to Tetlow.
