At Loyola University New Orleans, Jill Boatright serves as assistant dean and faculty member in the Office of Professional and Continuing Studies , teaching both online and in-person courses with a steadfast mission: empowering students to reach their fullest potential.
Since joining Loyola in 2012, she has devoted herself to guiding non-traditional learners, combining academic expertise, career insight, and personal mentorship to foster growth and confidence. Recognized for her accessibility and unwavering support, Boatwright creates an environment where students feel encouraged, inspired, and equipped to succeed, transforming challenges into opportunities for achievement.
“One of the biggest challenges for online students is communication,” said Boatwright. “Students need to reach out early and often. The more they communicate, the better we can support them. Keeping an open line of communication is essential. Our team wants to connect with students and truly get to know them.”
“I strive to be approachable and responsive,” Boatwright said. “Being genuinely invested in students helps create a space where they feel encouraged to ask questions, seek guidance, and thrive.”
“In my academic role, I’m able to identify the overarching struggles that students may face,” she explained. “Having insight into these challenges allows me to design my courses in a way that addresses them. I’m always looking for strategies to help students succeed and make the online learning experience as smooth and effective as possible,” Boatwright said.
The Online Adult Learning course reflects Boatright’s dedication to online education. By integrating real-world scenarios, practical strategies, and hands-on guidance, the course equips students to be career-ready. Her perspective as both leader and instructor ensures participants regardless of background or learning format, finish confident, capable, and prepared to thrive professionally.
“Boatright understands the challenges students face, from juggling jobs and caregiving to mastering new technology.
