Loyola will be celebrating MLK Unity Week campus-wide next week and will start off with a mass at 9:00 p.m. in the Chapel of St. Ignatius of Loyola celebrating MLK Unity Week. On Monday from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., students can go to Bobet room 33 to hear Bayard Rustin’s testimony regarding the racism and homophobia he faced, compelling him to orchestrate the 1963 march on Washington; lunch will be provided. There will be prayer, song, and dance on Tuesday from 12:30 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. in the Chapel of St. Ignatius to commemorate MLK’s legacy with Cherrell Simms Taplin as the keynote speaker. Lastly, the One Loyola Room will be hosting the Wall of Dreams all week, where students can share their aspirations towards justice.
