A new flea market is bringing New Orleans creatives and shoppers together in the Central Business District. The Crescent City Flea Market held its first event on April 19 at The Junebug, drawing a strong turnout from the community.
More than 20 vendors participated in the daylong event, offering a mix of vintage clothing, handmade jewelry and local artwork. Shoppers filled the space throughout the day, supporting small businesses and local creators.
“I love supporting different creators and vendors in the city,” said shopper Ella Jupiter. “I’m from New Orleans, so this is a great way to support my community.”
For vendors like Maddie Graham of QWQ Thrift, the event was both personal and successful. Graham, who has been selling vintage for nearly a decade, said her inventory was almost completely sold out by the end of the day.
Organizers say the Crescent City Flea Market is just getting started. The event is connected to Miami’s Magic City Flea, and future markets are expected in the coming months.
