Six new cameras are keeping an eye on the safety of Loyola, Universtiy Police said.
Four cameras were installed in the Monroe Library entrance and its lab rooms. Two cameras were placed at the entrances to the Communications/Music Complex.
The cameras were installed at the beginning of the semester, according to Lt. Angela Honora, UP crime prevention and logistics coordinator.
There are approximately 60 surveillance cameras on campus, according to UP Capt. Roger Pinac. Newly-installed cameras now keep watch on campus alongside cameras in locations such as West Road and Freret Street garages.
Live video feeds are linked into UP’s main office with 24-hour surveillance.
