Spotlight is a 30 second snapshot one of the many faces at Loyola. Each week The Maroon chooses a student, faculty member, or staff member to be interviewed at random. Tracy Kinamore is a psychology sophomore from Montgomery, Texas. Even though she enjoys watching Sex and the City, she doesn’t neglect her inner rocker when she listens to Marilyn Manson to release stress.
Maroon Life and Times: What kind of music do you listen to when you are stressed?
Tracy Kinamore: Marilyn Manson and Korn.
L & T: Which Sex and the City character do you most identify with the most and why?
Kinamore: Charlotte York, because she’s funny and she likes everything to be old-fashioned.
L & T : What is your favorite thing to eat in New Orleans?
Kinamore: Any type of seafood.
L & T: What do you hope to do with your psychology degree?
Kinamore: I want to get my masters and doctorate so that I can be a grief therapist for children and young adolescents.
L & T: How did you get interested in that field?
Kinamore: When I was younger, my dad died and I went to see counselors that gave me support. I also went to a camp that helped support grieving children and help them through the loss of a loved one. It was really interesting.
L & T: What are your pet peeves?
Kinamore: I don’t like it when people have their tags sticking out of their t-shirts. If I know the person I will try and tuck it back in. I also dislike when people disrespect books by throwing them or bending pages back. I understand that can happen on accident, but still.
L & T: Describe one of your best birthday celebrations.
Kinamore: When I was 16 years old I was attending boarding school. I invited all my friends to an Alice in Wonderland themed tea party. I enjoyed it and dressed up as Alice wearing a big blue bow. It was a lot of fun.
