The kid scored 21 points against Southern Miss – he’s an NAIA guard and they’re an NCAA team – and led the Wolfpack in scoring with 14.8 points a game last season like it was a Sunday stroll.
If anyone can teach you how to shoot a jump shot this side of St. Charles, Luke Zumo’s the guy to go to. (As demonstrated by forward David Curtin.)
1. Square your feet to the goal when you receive the pass. By doing that, you’ll also bring your shoulders square to the goal.
2. Find the spot where you’re comfortable and position the ball there. For me, it’s just to the right of my chin. Bring the ball to the same spot every time.
3. (On the release motion), bring your elbow up so that it almost rubs your side. (On the actual release), make sure you keep your elbow in.
4. Flick your wrist and hold the follow-through.
