TV shooting does not appear to break laws

NEW ORLEANS (AP) — Betting against the New Orleans Saints is not a good idea in Louisiana these days.

Doing so cost an Albany, La., man his 60-inch high-definition, flat-screen television this week, but also made him a star.

Wayne A. Spring bet the Saints would end their 12-game winning streak with a loss to the Washington Redskins on Sunday, saying if New Orleans won anyone who wanted could come to his house and shoot his television.

Spring said he got worried when the game went into overtime and as soon as the Saints kicked the winning field goal, for a 33-30 win to remain undefeated, his phone started ringing.

About a dozen Saints fans showed up at his home, armed to the teeth and shot up his TV.

Spring put the video on YouTube and says it has had over 145,000 hits in three days.
