“Justified: Season One” arrives on DVD chock-full of interesting bonus features. The series follows Deputy U.S. Marshal Raylan Givens as he returns to his hometown in Kentucky to deal with a plethora of conniving criminals in his quick-draw manner. The show’s gritty authenticity and crackling dialogue consistently pose for excellent television. A-
The downbeat story of John Lennon’s childhood up through the formation of The Beatles is explored in “Nowhere Boy.” As Lennon, Aaron Johnson (“Kick-Ass”) captures the young man’s rebellion based on his abandonment by his mother (Anne-Marie Duff) and how he tries to recapture her love. The well-conceived story brings of music’s greatest personalities to life and the DVD follows through with additional information in a great featurette. B+
