A visiting professor from Boston, Ma., will lecture on “American Jewish History Backwards and Forwards”, Wednesday, Oct. 30,
Jonathan Sarna, the Joseph H. & Belle R. Braun professor of American Jewish History at Brandeis University, was chosen to be the guest lecturer for the fall Jewish studes lecture series by the the College of Humanities and Natural Sciences.
Sarna will address how Judaism arose in America and what makes it distinctive, what makes it different from Judaism in Europe and Israel, challenges that Jews have historically faced in America, and challenges they face today.
The event’s reception begins at 6:45 p.m. and the lecture begins at 7:30 p.m. inside Monroe Hall Nunemaker Auditorium.
