At its final meeting for the semester, the Student Government Association chartered the Middle Eastern Studies Society. The group’s purpose is to foster discussion of Middle Eastern ideas, including history, language, current politics and culture. The society also hopes to broaden the awareness of the Middle East campus wide and plans to petition for the establishment of a Middle Eastern Studies minor. The group will become active as of next semester and will promote Loyola as a forum for critical thought and open discussion.
* Jen Murray, accounting junior, was elected as e-staffer of the month along with international business sophomore Sam Cabrera.
* The Student Government will resume meeting the first Tuesday upon returning from winter break.
