Loyola’s favorite Dessert: The Creole Creamery

This small, cash-only ice cream spot on Prytania Street may seem unassuming to the average passerby, but the adventurous flavors and popular “Tchoupitoulas Challenge” have garnered the store the winning choice for “Best Dessert” by Loyola students as well as national attention; it appeared on The Food Network’s “Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives” and “Kid In a Candy Story”. With out-of-the-box flavors like strawberry- basil sorbet and cucumber-dill ice cream next to classic favorites like chocolate and pistachio, there is something for everyone. “It’s definitely a unique ice cream experience because of the unusual flavors,” Gabriela Rivera, mass communication senior, said. “It’s a fun, yummy, indulgent treat to enjoy every so often.”
