With Lent in full swing, you might be craving catfish outside of catfish Fridays in the Orleans Room, so why not learn how to do it yourself?
What you will need:
4 catfish fillets
2 eggs
butter
1/4 cup of milk
1 box of Zatarain’s Seafood Fish-Fri
frying pan
paper towels
pie pan
Heat the frying pan with butter to 375 degrees F. Mix eggs and milk together in a separate bowl. Wash the catfish fillets thoroughly, then coat fillets with the egg and milk mixture. After coating with the milk and eggs, coat the fish with a desired amount of Zatarain’s Seafood Fish-Fri, and let it sit for 2 to 3 minutes. Place fish fillets into frying pan until they become golden brown. Drain the fillets on a paper towel placed inside a pie pan. Serve with macaroni and cheese, and your choice of sweet peas or collard greens.
Now you can stop going to that lady who sells fish plates from her house.
